16 Reasons The 1986 Transformers Movie Is Better Than The Current Film Series

Transformers The Last Knight is set to hit theaters on June 21, 2017. Bay’s series has been extremely financially successful, even if it’s been derided by critics, and The Last Knight (which stars Sir Anthony Hopkins alongside series regulars Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, and Stanley Tucci) will certainly probably be one of the biggest box-office successes of the year. ONE OF THE REASONS WHY REAL LEATHER IS NOT COMMONLY USED

I read this in a forum that was written a few years back regarding general advice on how to take care of your figures.

The second paragraph talks how real leather can melt over time and can stick to the blister tray if kept in storage.

This specifically was not talking about faux leather or pleather, but real leather. (more…)

With the construction of my cabinets done, it was time to start sprucing them up a bit. There’s nothing wrong with just plain ‘ol Detolfs, but I wanted to do something above and beyond the norm to really set my collection off.

During my initial planning I had intended on putting a mirrored finish on the backs of my snazzy new Detolfs by applying mirrored window tint to them. I’d seen it done in a couple people’s collections, and had really liked the way it looked. (more…)

G1 Cartoon Hauler Is Really Grapple

If you’re looking to own a G1 cartoon Hauler then all you need to do is buy a MP Grapple. Why? Because G1 Cartoon Hauler is really Grapple.

“Origins

In 1984, it appears that Hasbro intended to release the Diaclone “Crane” figure as part of the first year of the Transformers toyline as a character named “Hauler”. Packing cases for the 1984 Autobot Cars contained twelve figures, but only eleven toys were released (with an extra Mirage filling the empty slot), suggesting that Hauler was to be the twelfth. What’s More Important In The Look Of Your MP Figures?

What’s more important in the look of your MP figures? Toy accuracy, cartoon accuracy, comic book accuracy, real life appearance or something else? This seems to be a hot topic amongst Masterpiece and Masterpiece Style 3rd Party Collectors. I’ve seen folks complain about everything from Sideswipes chest being to wide to the motor blocks on Invisible and Sphinx aka Mirage being visible. They want a purely cartoon with bland, flat and bare minimum details look. If we are honest though, the cartoon at times was very poorly and lazily drawn causing for a lot of details to be purposely left out.  (more…)

How To Remove Pins And Rivets

Pin Removal by: Lobo

Here are the basic practices I use for removing pins when making custom Transformers. Before you start your project the first thing to do is realize that not all pins NEED to be removed. Sometimes it is better to tape off parts than trying to break them down into a bunch of pieces and risk damaging them. Remember, whatever pins you take out, you’ll have to put back in when your projects done. Sometimes this can more of a pain than its worth. (more…)

Transformers: The Great Toy Massacre Of 1986

Michael Bay’s films don’t have anything on the original animated classic.

Thirty years ago, Transformers: The Movie traumatised a generation of kids with a string of startling deaths. Ryan looks back…

NB: The following contains spoilers for Transformers: The Movie.

When parents took their kids to see Transformers: The Movie in 1986, they probably weren’t expecting quite as much death and mayhem.
